Now with Blog
Welcome to the December Newsletter from JamesBaur.com!
After a break for the Fall, the Newsletter is back and is full of information. There are a few new features
to the site that have just been implemented. First is the JamesBaur.com Weblog, delivering commentary and insight on
classical guitar music, performers, and teaching practices and methods. You can trust that this Blog will
talk about things only related to the guitar and not the daily minutae often found on other sites. Please check out the Blog, and enjoy!
Upcoming Performance
James will be performing January 5, 2006 on the University of Chicago's Noontime Concert Series. The concert begins at 12:15PM
and will feature pieces by Manuel Maria Poncé, Darius Milhaud, Manuel de Falla, and J.K. Mertz. Take a look at the
Calendar page for more info and a program.
New Recordings
Other news is that over the next few months, we will be posting a series of new recordings on the site. The works will be an eclectic
mix of pieces, some from Chicago composers. We hope to bring some otherwise unknown pieces to all of you who subscribe
to the Newsletter. Be on the look out for these soon!
Gifts for the Season
Have you begun your Holiday shopping? Made of String can be purchased through several different purveyors: CD Baby.com, CafePress.com, or through James himself.
New Directions
James has begun his Doctoral studies at Northwestern University
under the continued direction of Anne Waller. This is a wonderful opportunity to expand repertoire, work with
different people across the musical spectrum, and learn from the excellent musicians at Northwestern. And one
of the benefits of the program will be several concerts of brand-new repertoire to be performed throughout the
next couple of years. So be on the watch for new concert announcements!
